Commenting at The Aggregate

We would like to work towards the following commenting culture:

  1. Authors are encouraged to invite conversation around their posts. This can be done by including questions to readers in the post, in particular at the end.

  2. Read posts with an open mind. One of the goals of this blog is to showcase the diversity of perspectives and approaches within the broad field of agroecology.

  3. Comment and tell writers if you like what you are reading, your thoughts, your questions, your concerns, ideas that others may find interesting…all of those things!

  4. If you have a contrasting opinion or idea, you are invited to share it. In doing so, be thoughtful in your critique. Consider asking questions of the author, or sharing data or information they may not know about yet. You may want to share what you liked or agreed with along with any more critical comments. Simply put - be kind and aim for productive debate.

  5. Feel free to share these posts with others in your network, including through social media, as this can broaden the conversation.

  6. Note: Comments post automatically, however readers have the option of reporting inappropriate comments. The editorial team at The Aggregate will monitor reported content, and remove comments that do not meet the above guidelines. Users who have their posts removed will receive a warning with explanation.
